What is an Orthodontic Emergency?
Occasionally, wires will poke gums and cause soars or pain in the mouth. Also, braces can break or become loose, usually due to eating hard foods or candy. Soreness is to be expected throughout orthodontic treatment. Soreness is common after monthly visits, depending on the procedure.
Here is a list of some common emergency and non-emergency complaints.
Emergency:- Dental Trauma causing uncontrollable pain. Call general dentist (e.g. broken tooth, swelling, lost filling or accidents causing damage to teeth, etc.)
- Orthodontic Trauma causing uncontrollable pain. Call or page Dr. Bhatt (e.g. pain from braces that cannot be controlled using wax)
